Good idea. Perhaps looking at the flyball percentage on the road given different parks would help. Small samples are going to mess some up, however, comparison to flyball percentage of said parks might show something.
Dodgers:
Adding Jones should help a power-starved outfield. Pierre stole 64 bases in 2007 but had the worst on-base plus slugging percentage (.685) among N.L. outfielders.

Brewers
Cameron has lost some range. Though he strikes out too much, he works counts and takes walks. Hart is an emerging talent. Braun moves from third and has to learn a new position, but there is no questioning his bat.

Just thoughts from a lonley

Let me add an unlikely name: Antonelli ! I saw him last year for a couple games, and he looked hemmed in at second. He sure looked fast on the basepaths, though. One Padres guy said he could move to the outfield if he doesn't improve at second, so why not put him there now? He looks like he'll be better running loose in the outfield, and with that speed, he might have a future in CF.

So, were you one of the Padres fans chanting MVP for Kotsay in 2002? I was until he got hurt bad. That was tough. Not sure if Kotsay will ever play a whole season again and at Petco, that might be tougher on his body trying to cover CF. A platoon with somebody might work. Jason Lane, maybe?

Isn't Buck a RF? Also, I don't know if he's a pull LH hitter or not. He sure can mash when healthy. I don't know if swapping with Headley straight is a good deal though.

Enjoy the winter break.

Four free agency candidates, but I think you can discard Aaron Rowand off that list as I am pretty sure he won't be coming here. So that leaves Andruw, Kosuke and Lofton as the remaining options. I agree with you on Lofton being a fallback option, so its down to two. Andruw's season may have been a fluke IMO, and I would much rather sign the sure thing rather than the unknown. At least we know Andruw will hit around 25 bombs, true he will strikeout a lot, but he also brings out the same defense Cameron has. Offer Andruw a one-year deal to help us contend and I would be satisfied. On the other face of the coin we have Kosuke. Many people say he is the best Japanese FA right now and I pretty much agree. In case we fail of acquiring Jones, I'd go straight to Kosuke. A four year deal wouldn't be bad at around 11 MM. I wouldn't say him playing only RF would be a problem. You just switch Brian Giles to LF (his original position in Pittsburgh I believe) and have Kosuke at RF though the CF void would still be there. In that case how about signing both Kosuke and Lofton? 17 MM for both guys would seem a much better investment than Andruw Jones, but who knows?

Very good blog once again. I beg to differ this time around though. Brian Giles would be best suited in LF or RF as like you said, he hasn't had more than one start at CF and could have a difficult time adapting to his new position. I like Cameron but boy were his numbers disappointing this year. Seems like he is on the decline but I wouldn't mind seeing him with the Pads for one more year. Jason Lane, ugh, not to be a pessimist or something like that but I think he is nothing more than a good bench guy. Looking forward to your next post (which should be up by now) as I want your opinion on the one-year deal for Andruw Jones or getting Aaron Rowand (which is a longshot). Other than those two there isn't much around, oh and lets not forget Kosuke Fukudome which I would love to have that guy as he seems a very Hideki Matsui-type of guy.
